Review: Becoming Jewish: The Challenges, Rewards, and Paths to Conversion

Becoming Jewish: The Challenges, Rewards, and Paths to Conversion
Becoming Jewish: The Challenges, Rewards, and Paths to Conversion by Steven Reuben

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I took a very long time to finish this book. I really wanted to read it thoroughly and understand everything!

I can honestly say...I am in no danger of Becoming Jewish anytime soon! Judaism has a lot of wonderful qualities, but I still cannot reconcile the 1 god thing...

A wonderful resource for anyone wanting to convert or just learn more about Judaism!

Review: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this book! It is my absolute favorite of the series! The tournament is so much fun, and it is a nice break from the "You-know-who is gonna get you" that a lot of the series gets mired in!

Another reason I love this one...they are getting older! They're more fun...not kids anymore! Forming romantic relationships, getting jealous and not understanding why, etc...

10 STARS! Love it!

R.I.P. Sally Ride!

Sally Ride died Monday at her home in La Jolla after a 17-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 61.

Sally Ride the first American woman sent into space, the youngest American sent into space and the first woman to make two trips. She also was the sole astronaut appointed to the Rogers Commission to investigate the 1986 explosion of the shuttle Challenger.

Sally Ride: physicist; author of seven science books for children; member of the space shuttle Challenger crew; member of the President's Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology; director of the California Science Institute; inductee into the National Women's Hall of Fame, the California Hall of Fame, the Aviation Hall of Fame, and the Astronaut Hall of Fame; recipient of the Jefferson Award for Public Service, the von Braun Award, the Lindbergh Eagle, the NCAA's Theodore Roosevelt Award, and the NASA Space Flight Medal (twice).

Sally Ride -- astronaut, pioneer, teacher, writer and devoted lesbian partner for 27 years -- now there's a great American success story.
